After reading archaeology and anthropology as a mature student at Cambridge University, Grahame undertook an MPhil in Archaeological Research looking at the development and significance of British Bronze Age spears and wrote his thesis on the spears and Late Bronze Age hoard from Bradley Fen, Whittlesey, Cambridgeshire. Grahame started work at the Cambridge Archaeological Unit in 2005 where he has been involved in post-excavation data analysis and writing reports on prehistoric and
Roman metalwork. He has published on the use of primary and secondary source material in re-enactment, the Boudican rebellion, the historiography of archival material (with Chris Evans) and has a forthcoming paper on the nature of spear hoards in Great Britain.
